Slapped 5 Million Times

Nice shiner!
Nice shiner? Thanks, neighbor!

Too dramatic?

How to give a hint of the way it feels to be slapped by 5,668,960 people?

Just over 1 of every 2 people I pass on the street, in stores, malls, restaurants, just over 50% of these people actually voiced their opinion:
  • that the stream of heterosexual parents and foster parents who maltreated my children, to the point of losing them, are more deserving of the basics of citizenship than are the adoptive parents who are helping these children heal?
  • that should I die first, my husband does not deserve my social security check, but the money I paid in, all these years, should go to subsidize the golden years of people who neither know him, support him, nor love him?
  • that I deserve to have paid the extra $20,000 in federal and state taxes since being hired by my current employer, compared to a straight co-worker sitting next to me, because I could have kept it if only I’d pretended to love some woman and tricked her into marrying me nonetheless?
  • that in this case and in this country, someone else’s religion should dictate laws limiting my wealth and well-being?
  • that all men are created equal except for homosexuals? Continue reading

Radical Traditionalism I – Is Marriage Truly About Love?

(I want to credit much of Radical Traditionalist Theory to my sister and to mind-blowing conversations with her.)

Okay, marriage is about love
At least nowadays it is. But historically marriage was not merely a celebration of blissful love; nor, as I caution here, should it be.

Call me odd, un-romantic, bitter?

Ah, those hilarious Lockhorns!

Lockhorn Spouses - traditional marriage?

Shucks – please just call me old-fashioned. Not as in return-to-traditional-values-of-the-1950s-conservative; and I’m not talking about our tradition of Lockhorn spouses (though I can’t seem to get enough of their enduring mutual resentment – LOL!!).

I’d rather think I’m really old-fashioned; a thoughtful throwback; a Radical Traditionalist.

Or you can request via posnie@gmail.com.
I’d prefer that you order them, but I will send a couple to you if you’d like.
And check this out – from a creative reader:

I copied the “Do unto others” on a window decal on my inkjet printer and put it on my car. I am so sick of the happy go lucky Yes on 8 bumperstickers that I have seen and want revenge!
Window decals can be had at any paper section of Best Buy or probably Tatget. They stick to windows or bumpers.

Blame the Gays

Marriage is failing.
I hear it’s because of the gays.

  1. “If we let homosexuals marry, next comes polygamy”
    • Hey: Don’t blame polygamy on the gays – blame polygamists: blame FLDS; blame Islam; blame Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We gays are still working on the basic one-on-one thing.
(BTW, polygamists don’t get divorced at the same rate the rest of you do.)
  2. “Next, people will marry their pets”
    • Again, that’s your weirdness, not ours. We want to marry people like ourselves, hence the term homosexual.
    • Want to see something really creepy? Do a google search on “marry your dog”. I am serious.
    • I heard a male Ivy-League college student recounting his previous night’s dream of getting romantic with his dog. “The worst part about it”, he said, face all pinched, “- my dog is a guy!
No, Bronson, that aint worst part. Bestiality trumps homosexuality to an extent that you can’t begin to quantify.
  3. Divorce is already rampant – how can marriage survive gays?
    • That’s your fault – we probably won’t do any better than y’all do, but we didn’t mess up what we’ve never had.
    • Bonus points: most of the homosexuals who want to marry today have been together >10 years already.
  4. It’s against God’s will
    • Strike 4: No it’s not.
(Yes it is; no it’s not; yes it is…)
    • You start legislating selectively on the basis of your correct religion, wait 5 minutes or 5 years, and they’ll be shoving their incorrect religion down your legal throat. That’s why we don’t make laws based on God’s will here in America.

Maybe life is more complicated than explanations supplied by our religions, politics, and products. Maybe cautious decency, not confident dogma, should be our approach (see blog entry on Obama’s Big Speech).

Bumper Stickers: No on 8

Hey, I designed these and ordered them last night.
You can order some too, and pack one of these stickers on your own bumper.

Of course, for the Official dark-blue bumper stickers, and more gear, do go to:

LOTS of people don’t know that California’s Proposition 8 proponents are rather likely to win – and take away the newly awarded rights & responsibilities of legal marriage from gay people.

You can also donate.
